Last fall, we cleared debris and invasives from several greenbelts.
- Wilderness Park.
- Between Donnelly Dr. and 48th Court.
- Wilderness Drive near Boulevard Road.
We purchased 50 Western redcedars and 50 White pines from the Thurston Conservation District and also had the good fortune of obtaining many, many free trees and shrubs from them.
In each of these 3 locations, we planted a variety of Western redcedar, White pine, Grand fir, Nootka rose, Ocean spray, and other native shrubs.
These areas will need attention for a few years while the trees and shrubs start to fill in. Meanwhile, we’ll be digging the blackberries from that area regularly to give the new trees and shrubs a fighting chance!
Area cleared, limbs chipped, and wood stacked before planting

Planting day!
It was a nice morning for planting trees and shrubs in two common-area greenbelts. Both will require attention for years to come.
Thank you to all the volunteers who helped with the two projects: Albert Rios, Cherryl Steben, Todd Steben, Michelle Ray Charles, Larry McElroy, Nick Quinn, Sophia Quinn, Kirra Quinn, Ragahvendra Paturi, Cris Johnson, and Wade Peterson
